My Experience

Hi, I’m Gabi.

I have worked in mental health services for over 20 years in outpatient, inpatient and private settings. I have a particular interest in working with young people and adults who are experiencing difficulties with:

  • Anxiety (including OCD, health anxiety and panic)
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Trauma including PTSD

Navigating the challenges that life throws up can be challenging and at times our coping mechanisms no longer work in the face of what is happening.  I aim to offer a safe place to be able to unpack some of this and work together to try and find solutions help manage what is causing distress.  This may be through enhancing skills, increasing connection to what really matters and reducing the effect of any trauma that may be at the heart of the problems. The focus depends on what each individual brings and what goals they are setting for our work. I believe that it is essential to ensure that client centred practice remains the primary focus of any therapeutic intervention.

My Values

I am committed to providing a warm welcoming and safe space where clients can share their problems and feel respected and supported. I believe in matching the evidence-based practice to what is best suited to the issues and the individual themselves.  My aim is for everyone I see to have a therapeutic experience that feels respectful and is also makes a positive difference to the people with whom I am working.

Models I Work With

I use a range of psychological techniques whose effectiveness have been rigorously evaluated to facilitate change and bring about improvement

I have a particular interest in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).  I also call on DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) to help enhance interpersonal skills and emotional regulation where appropriate.

I always tailor my approach to fit the needs of each individual client.
