My Experience

I have worked in adult mental health in the NHS since 2007. I have as a result, extensive experience working with adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges. The people I have supported often have to navigate long-standing difficulties and more recent life stressors and my work is focused on helping people make sense of their experiences to find practical and sustainable ways forward.

I can support you if you struggle with:

  • Adjusting to significant life events
  • Anger issues
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic stress
  • Depression
  • Feeling overwhelmed with stress and emotions
  • Grief and loss
  • Panic attacks
  • Post trauma stress reactions, including flashbacks and nightmares

My Values

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of any helping profession and I value helping people to explore and discover possibilities in life again. I work to create a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. I tailor the support to meet the person’s unique needs as meaningful change starts with feeling heard and understood.

Our initial session would begin with an in-depth conversation designed to cover key areas of current difficulties to help us understand together, what may be keeping you stuck and start looking at possible ways forward.

The Models I Work With

I work predominantly with Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and often integrate principles of humanistic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) where called for to further complement the person’s healing.

Whichever therapy model I use, my focus is always with a trauma-informed lens centred on the person’s needs.

Clinic Information

I offer in-person appointments on Friday mornings in Basingstoke.  Remote appointments are also available and are offered on Friday afternoons. I work with adults from 18 years upwards.
