My Experience

I am a Specialist Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC). I work in both NHS and private settings and have extensive experience and specialism working across children, young people, families and adult settings. I work with children, young people and families to navigate difficulties related to mental health, autism and learning differences. I work with children, young people and families to think about their overall aims, hopes and goals for change and work collaboratively to make meaningful change. I also work with adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, OCD and difficulties related to emotion regulation as well as general difficulties related to stress or low self-esteem for example.

I can support with a variety of psychological needs/difficulties or mental health conditions. The usual first step is to arrange a time which suits you for an initial psychological assessment. At this appointment you will have the opportunity to discuss your main needs, difficulties and goals and if appropriate I can help to identify how these might be met through psychological therapy. You will also be able to ask any questions you might have about how therapy works.

My Values

I believe that therapy can be a window of opportunity for change and, at the same time, a place for acceptance too. My values centre on providing a therapy space that is meaningful, helpful and effective to my clients in line with their hopes and goals. I also believe that therapy is a space to facilitate change and to ‘hand over’ the understanding, skills and strategies needed to move forward into the next phase of your journey.

The Models I Work With

As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained in a variety of models which I typically use in an integrative manner, which means I take the skills and tools from a variety of modes to create a bespoke and individualised therapy experience targeted specifically at your needs. The main therapy modes I draw on are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Systemic Therapy. I am also informed by Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy.
