Dr Claire Price
I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health settings across the NHS, the charity sector and independent practice.
I have extensive experience and training in working with adults, young people, and families. I work with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). emotion-regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and stress. I also work with clients who wish to have therapy for personal development and to learn more about themselves. I have experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities or neurodiversity.
I currently also work as a Senior Clinical Psychologist for the UK’s leading Veteran’s mental health charity, specialising in complex trauma.
I am passionate about providing a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to all of my clients. I treat all my clients with kindness, respect and compassion. I support individuals to achieve a better psychological wellbeing to live a fuller life. Collaboration with you is central to my approach, together we will build an understanding of your difficulties and plan as to how we might address them.
The models I work with
I am trained in a large range of evidence-based therapies, however I will always consider your individual needs and tailor therapy to you. I work integratively according to the needs of my clients. This means that I may draw on more than one psychological model to best fit you. The main models I use to inform my practice include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as mindfulness, systemic and psychodynamic approaches.
I see clients online on Monday evenings and Thursday day time. Research suggests that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy, clients also find it is more convenient to fit into their busy lives.
