Clinical Psychologist

Southampton Clinic

My Experience

I have worked in the NHS since 2009 supporting both adults and adolescents, with a variety of difficulties.  Prior to this, I also have experience working in not-for-profit healthcare organisations and large research organisations.  I have worked with people living with severe, complex and chronic mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, psychosis, childhood abuse, chronic health conditions and complex co-morbid presentations.

My Values

My values centre round enabling individuals, couples and families to recognise strength and resilience and move towards their valued way of living. It is important to me to create a safe, open and collaborative space in which to explore current and historical difficulties and experiences. I value the opportunity to empower individuals, couples and families to make useful changes in their lives and move towards a richer and more positive existence.

The Models I work with

My interests include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) & Family and Systemic Psychotherapy. However, I will always aim to adapt or integrate therapeutic models to fit the needs of the people I work with. Therefore these models can be used in their 'pure' form or as part of an integrative approach depending on what works best for you.
