Clinical Psychologist and Accredited CBT & EMDR Therapist

Southampton Clinic

My Experience

I have worked in the NHS since 2004 supporting both adults and adolescents with a variety of difficulties, to make sense of and move forward, enabling them to make a life worth living.  I have worked with people living with severe, complex and chronic mental health difficulties such as personality disorders, psychosis, childhood abuse/complex trauma, dissociative disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex co-morbid presentations. I have also supported people through loss, anxiety (including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OCD) and depression as well as living with chronic physical health problems. I currently work with adolescents and adults.

My Values

My real passion is helping people to feel as though they have more control over their lives (and their difficulties) and to support people to achieve their goals.  Living with mental health difficulties and/ or chronic health conditions can be overwhelming, frightening and all consuming. I aim to instil confidence that people can achieve their dreams and live a fulfilling life by working with the individual to help them both understand and overcome the challenges they are facing.

The Models I work with

I use a range of psychological therapies to suit your needs, which we can discuss together during our first appointment.  I am able to work with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT), Behavioural Activation (BA) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) models.  These can be used in their 'pure' form or as part of an integrative approach depending on what works best for you.
